If you want to be a royal, you have to dress like a royal. At least, that’s the mantra Princess Catherine seems to have used since marrying in 2011.
Far from wearing clothes most could afford, Catherine has many expensive items in her wardrobe that most could only dream of wearing.
Catherine Walker & Co ($2,500)
While most celebrities will save their most expensive dresses for red carpet outfits, one place Catherine likes to wear hers to is Wimbledon.
The princess wore this particular dress to the 2017 Wimbledon men’s singles final. The top half of the dress is white and the bottom has colorful wildflowers, as seen in Kate Middleton Style.
Dolce & Gabbana ($2,781)
While attending a Remembrance Day service in 2017, Catherine wore a Dolce & Gabbana dress that retailed at $2,781, according to What Kate Wore.
She was also wearing a Philip Treacy hat, which is believed to have cost somewhere between $1,293 and $2,587. She paired this outfit with Cornelia James Beatrice gloves that cost $92 and Oscar de la Renta gold sun-shaped earrings, with the overall outfit costing around $5,500.
Dolce & Gabbana ($3,121)
Appearing at the Royal Ascot means needing to make a statement, and Princess Catherine did just that in 2016 when she attended the horse racing event wearing a white lace Dolce & Gabbana dress.
This was Catherine’s first time attending the Royal Ascot, and it’s safe to say she made an impression with the outfit she wore alone, which included a fascinator that matched her dress perfectly.
Jenny Packham ($5,000)
When going on a royal tour of Canada with her husband and children in 2016, Catherine wanted to make a statement, so she went for a royal blue colored dress from Jenny Packham worth $5,000.
However, when this was put together with her hat, shoes, earrings, and clutch bag, Catherine’s overall outfit was reportedly worth around $22,305, according to E! News.
Jenny Packham ($6,466)
This is one of Catherine’s most famous dresses that she has worn, but surprisingly, is also one of the cheapest.
She wore this dress in September 2021 at the premiere of the James Bond film “No Time To Die.” The dress was inspired by “Goldfinger” and is complete with a gold cape.
Alexander McQueen ($7,765)
Red carpet dresses are a theme among Catherine’s most expensive items in her wardrobe, with this Alexander McQueen dress costing $7,765.
Catherine wore this during an appearance at the 2017 BAFTA Awards. It is a black dress with a floral print and is in a fishtail style as it clings to the top half of her body and widens out toward the lower half. It is also an off-the-shoulder dress.
Elie Saab ($9,282)
When attending a royal wedding, it’s always important to look your best, and Princess Catherine did just this in June 2023 when attending the wedding of Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II to Rajwa Alseif.
The dress is blush pink and has some Victorian-style detailing on the top part of the dress and sleeves. However, this is not a new dress, per Kate Middleton Style. This dress debuted in Elie Saab’s 2017 couture collection.
Alexander McQueen ($9,534)
This dress was custom-made for Catherine, as she was pregnant at the time, and while on an overseas visit to Norway, she needed something that made her look glamorous but was comfortable on her baby bump.
This is a pale pink, floaty dress and is described on Neiman Marcus as a chiffon dress with embellished shoulder cape.
Chanel ($10,891)
Royals should always be looking their best and when in Paris during a royal visit in 2017, Catherine saw it appropriate to wear a Chanel number.
The dress in question was made of tweed, and the outfit was complete with a black belt and a bag that were both also made by Chanel, according to Kate Middleton Style.
Alexander McQueen ($14,014)
Alexander McQueen is one of Catherine’s favorite designers, as she continuously wears various outfits designed by them.
The princess wore this dress to her sister Pippa Middleton’s wedding back in May 2017 and was seen helping out with the bridesmaids and page boys on her sister’s big day.
Phillepa Lepley ($14,500)
During a trip to the Bahamas, Catherine decided to go all-out by wearing this Phillipa Lepley dress that cost the small price of $14,500.
Catherine wore this ice blue satin gown, as stated by Kate Middleton Style, during a dinner reception while she and William were at reception dinner during their final night at a royal trip to the Bahamas.
Alexander McQueen ($434,000)
No one could ever forget the wedding dress Princess Catherine wore during her wedding to Prince William.
Likely the most expensive outfit she has ever worn, Catherine’s wedding dress was kept a secret from the entire world, with even the wedding dress designer not telling any of their family or friends, according to Brides.
